DMはdirect messageの略です。I got a DMとメッセージそのものを指し、DM meと送る動作にも使います。SNS、メッセージアプリ、仕事のチャットで使われます。

修正前If you want the recipe, write me in direct.
修正後If you want the recipe, dm me.
英語ではdirectだけを個別メッセージの意味で使わないため、write me in directは不自然です。短いdm meに置き換えます。
DMはSNSやメッセージアプリ内の連絡です。電話のテキストならtext me、メールならemail meで、Text me when you land.と使います。共通の中立的な動詞はmessageで、I'll message you the details.と言えます。先生へのメールやIELTSのエッセイではprivate message、IELTS SpeakingではI messaged him on Instagramと表せます。
