We teach you not just words, but how to use them accurately under real exam conditions

You write a sentence — the service checks it against IELTS criteria

Sounds familiar?

Not sure how to correctly use the words you’ve learned

You practice, but without feedback you don’t know if you used a word appropriately. You’re afraid to reinforce incorrect usage and end up avoiding the advanced vocabulary that actually boosts your score.

On the exam only "good/important" comes to mind

You’ve memorized tons of words, but when it’s time to write or speak you can’t form a solid sentence with them — only simple options stay in your head because you never practiced using the advanced ones.

No idea which vocabulary to learn for the exam

You spend time on random vocabulary that either won’t be useful in the test or can even lower your score.

English-only services feel overwhelming

When the interface and explanations aren’t in your native language, preparation takes extra mental effort. It’s easy to miss the point of the task and lose marks on the test.

How it works

Word

The service gives you a word from an exam-focused collection → you immediately write your own sentence with it (just like in the exam).

Check

AI instantly checks your phrasing against IELTS requirements.

Improve

You get corrections and a version that would score “one band higher” — more natural and academic.

Consolidate

Active recall plus spaced repetition lock both the word and its usage into your long-term memory.

Frequently asked questions

Is this service right for me?
Yes, if you’re preparing for IELTS and aiming for Band 7+, vocabulary and how you use it correctly are the foundation for all four skills. If your level is from Intermediate (B1) and above, you can jump straight into the exam collections. If it’s lower, we recommend starting with general vocabulary building — we have dedicated Oxford 3000/2000 collections for that.
Can I study from my phone?
Yes. It’s a web service with proper mobile adaptation — nothing to install. Just open it in your browser and start learning. We designed the exercises so you can do them anywhere: write a sentence, get feedback, review the words.
I already have flashcards/Anki/Quizlet – why do I need this?
Our service is not just a list of words, but a trainer for using them. Unlike regular flashcards, you immediately write a sentence with the target word and get feedback in the exact format of the exam you’re preparing for. An approach based on active useis far more effective than passive word review. Plus, we give you exam-relevant contexts and examples right away — you don’t have to invent them yourself.
I already use Magoosh / E2 Test Prep – why add this?
Magoosh, E2 Test Prep and similar IELTS prep courses give you everything at once: strategies, mocks, lectures. That’s useful, but mostly when you have a lot of time to prepare. We deliberately keep a narrow focus on exam vocabulary and practicing its use, because that’s what most strongly affects achieving a high band score.
Why not just hire a tutor? A real teacher is better, right?
A private tutor is a good idea, but it costs a lot of time and money and isn’t available 24/7. Modern AI, on the other hand, shows impressive effectiveness: in controlled experiments students with an AI tutor learned faster and better than in a traditional classroom. Our AI is trained on exam criteria and typical mistakes, so its vocabulary feedback is very close to what a real examiner would comment on. Essentially, you get teacher-level support 24/7 for the price of about one tutoring hour per month.
Can I really trust AI feedback?
We rely on the same criteria as IELTS examiners — appropriacy, range, accuracy — everything they actually look at in your writing. Even exam developers now trust AI: for example, ETS has officially rolled out automatic Speaking/Writing scoring using their rubrics. We use similar technology tuned for candidates’ needs, so you can trust that our “virtual examiner” is close to real-world judgment.
How effective is this approach overall?
It’s built on evidence-based methods — spaced repetition and active recall. . Spaced repetition helps you retain material much better and for longer than cramming. Active recall (producing the word from context yourself) outperforms passive reading or looking at hints — these effects are well-known in cognitive science and form the basis of SRS systems. You can be sure the service doesn’t waste your time, but applies modern learning best practices so each bit of effort pays off.
What if I’m not taking an exam?
The core flow is “learn a word → use it → get feedback”. That works great for general English too, not only for exams. For this, we include collections like Oxford 3000/2000 for all proficiency levels.
Do you help with grammar as well?
The service highlights grammar mistakes and suggests correct variants. But the deliberate focus is vocabulary, because on the exam it’s often what stops people from moving above 6.0–6.5. In most cases, this automatic feedback is enough so you don’t need separate hours of grammar study.
