有些语言中，对应 by the way 的说法也能表示来得正是时候。但英语 by the way 不承担这个意思，它是转换话题的标记。要说发生在合适的时刻，用 at the right time，因此作此替换。
不要与表示途中发生事情的 on the way 混淆：I'll buy some bread on the way home。虽然都含有 way，by the way 并不表示在路上。
