How come? 表示“为什么、怎么会这样”，是非正式地询问原因，并带有惊讶：事情与预想不同。正式讲话和书面表达中，可改用 why。

修改前How come are you still at the office? It's nearly midnight.
修改后How come you are still at the office? It's nearly midnight.
How come 后面保留陈述句语序：you are，而不是 are you。错误来自 why 的疑问结构，那里需要倒装：Why are you still at the office?
How come 与 why 意思接近，但 why 语气中性、适用范围更广：Why did the company change its policy? How come 比较口语，不宜用于 IELTS 作文，但在 Speaking 中可以很自然。
