修改前Don't you eat meat? — Nope, I do, just not very often.
修改后Don't you eat meat? — Yep, I do, just not very often.
回答 Don't you eat meat? 这样的否定问句时，英语依据事实作答，而不是跟着问句的否定形式。如果你吃肉，就说 yep 或 yes, I do。Nope 会表示 I don't，因此与后面的 I do 矛盾。
回答意见类问题时，单独一句 nope 可能有点生硬：Did you like the film? — Nope。Not really 更缓和，也更自然：Not really, it was too long for me。Nope 适合朋友间聊天。IELTS Speaking 中可以回答 no 或 not really，然后立即说明原因；写信时用 no。
