For a while 表示持续一段时间,常常不算很长。 I haven't seen him for a while

I lived in Spain during a while after university.
修改后I lived in Spain for a while after university.
但 during 后面接具体事件或时段:during the summer、during the meeting。说明某事持续多久时,用 for:for two years、for a while。
For a while 是不精确的一段时间,通常不刻意强调很久;for a long time 则明确强调时间长:I lived there for a long time, almost twenty years。不要与 in a while 混淆,后者表示过一会儿:I'll call you back in a while。

for a while — 这里说在车站外聊了大约十分钟,重点是短暂聊了一会儿,因此选 for a while。For a long time
I worked at a small hotel in Sochi for a while and helped foreign guests with bookings and excursions.
