Pass 容易被当成谈考试的通用动词，但它表示取得及格成绩、通过考试。I'm passing my history exam tomorrow 听起来像已经知道明天能通过。若只是说明明天要去考，应说 I'm taking my history exam。
Take an exam 说的是考生参加考试。老师组织考试用 give：Our teacher gives us an exam at the end of every term。英式英语中，出题可以用 set an exam。因此 The teacher took the exam 表示老师以考生身份参加了考试。
