容易写成只用逗号连接的两句：The course was expensive, nonetheless it was worth it。但 nonetheless 不能像 but 那样直接连接两个完整分句。这里需要在它前面放句号或分号，后面加逗号。修改保留了所有单词，只调整标点。
Nonetheless 表示第二件事克服了第一件事带来的阻碍：The team lost two key players. Nonetheless, they won the league。如果只是两种情况不同，第一件事并不妨碍第二件事，可以用 whereas：My sister loves the sea, whereas I prefer the mountains。对话中 nonetheless 也可以放在句末：We went out nonetheless。
