Hence 表示“因此、所以”，引出前文所述情况的结果。它比较正式，常用于作文、文章和报告。后面常常不是完整从句，而只是一个名词短语，例如 hence the name，意思是“所以才有这个名字”。

From here 看起来像能表达“由此而来”，但例句中的 from here 指地点：The station is ten minutes from here。要引出这里的结果，应使用 hence，后面直接接名词短语即可：hence the growing interest。
Hence 与 therefore 意思接近，但此处常用的结构不同。Therefore 后面接带动词的完整分句：The road was closed; therefore, we were late。Hence 则常接不带动词的名词短语：The road was closed, hence the delay。两者在日常对话中都有些书面，人们通常说 that's why。
