Whether presenta una elección entre posibilidades, a menudo dentro de una pregunta indirecta: I don't know whether he'll come. Whether … or not indica que el resultado no cambia en ninguno de los dos casos: Whether you agree or not, the rules won't change.

Versión corregidaWhether you like it or not, the exam is on Monday.
If puede introducir condiciones y preguntas indirectas, por eso parece una opción posible. Pero al comienzo de esta oración, if … or not no expresa «te guste o no». Para señalar que las dos posibilidades no cambian el resultado necesitas whether … or not.
En preguntas indirectas, if y whether suelen ser intercambiables: I asked if the shop was open. Solo whether funciona antes de to + verbo, como whether to stay; después de una preposición, como It depends on whether he agrees; y al comienzo con or not en este sentido. En ensayos, whether suena más formal.
Ahora te toca

whether — Después del hueco aparece to bring, un infinitivo con to. Solo whether puede precederlo: if to bring no es una construcción válida.
Escribe sobre una decisión que estés considerando. Utiliza whether … or y menciona las dos opciones.
I'm trying to decide whether to renew my gym membership or start running in the park.
