كيف تمدح شخصًا واسع الاطلاع على الفن والأدب؟ الكلمة هي cultured، أما cultural فتعني «متعلق بالثقافة»، كما في cultural heritage وcultural events. وقد تقع في فرق مشابه عند وصف نوع الموسيقى: classical music هي الموسيقى الكلاسيكية، وليست classic music. هذه الفروق في الكلمات المألوفة جزء من الدقة التي يقيسها Lexical Resource.
في IELTS Writing Task 2 قد تناقش تمويل المتاحف والمسارح حين تحتاج المستشفيات إلى المال، أو الحفاظ على تقاليد لم تعد تهم الشباب، أو تدريس الموسيقى والفن إلى جانب الرياضيات. وفي Speaking Part 2 قد تصف كتابًا أو فيلمًا أو متحفًا أو مهرجانًا. ثم ينتقل Part 3 إلى أسئلة أوسع عن حاجة المجتمع إلى الفن ومستقبل الحرف التقليدية.

أخطاء شائعة
1. Cultural أم cultured؟
My grandfather was a very cultural person who knew a lot about music.
الصواب: My grandfather was a very cultured person who knew a lot about music.
تصف cultural ما يتصل بالثقافة: cultural differences وa cultural centre. أما الشخص المطلع على الفنون فـcultured، ولواسع القراءة يمكنك استخدام well-read. وإذا كنت تقصد حسن السلوك والأدب فاختر polite أو well-mannered.
2. Interesting أم interested؟
I am very interesting in contemporary art.
الصواب: I am very interested in contemporary art.
تصف interesting ما يثير الاهتمام: an interesting exhibition. أما من يشعر بالاهتمام فهو interested، ومعه in. في الصياغة الأصلية تحاول وصف اهتمامك، لكن I am interesting تصفك أنت بأنك شخص مثير للاهتمام.
3. Classic أم classical؟
I rarely listen to classic music.
الصواب: I rarely listen to classical music.
تشير classical هنا إلى تقليد فني محدد، مثل classical music وclassical ballet. أما classic فقد تعني نموذجيًا أو متميزًا أو خالدًا: a classic film وa classic mistake. يظهر هذا الالتباس بسهولة في Speaking Part 2 عند الحديث عن الموسيقى المفضلة.
4. الفعل المناسب لحضور حفل
Last month I visited a concert of a famous pianist.
الصواب: Last month I went to a concert by a famous pianist.
تستخدم visit مع الأماكن والأشخاص: visit a museum وvisit an exhibition وvisit my aunt. أما للحفل أو المسرحية أو المهرجان فالتعبير المعتاد go to، أو attend في صياغة أكثر رسمية. ويقدم الموسيقي الحفل، لذا نقول a concert by لا of هنا.
كيف يشرح LetsWords هذه الأخطاء؟

ويقترح أيضًا كلمة أدق: save → preserve، فـpreserve traditions تعبر بوضوح عن إبقائها حية.

استخدام التراكيب في Writing Task 2
سؤال على نمط الاختبار:
Some people think that public money should not be spent on the arts, such as museums, theatres and galleries, because there are more urgent needs. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
فقرة تبين موقف الكاتب:
Admittedly, hospitals and schools must come first, but cutting public funding for the arts entirely would be short-sighted. Museums and theatres do more than entertain: they preserve cultural heritage that would otherwise be lost and give communities a sense of identity. Without subsidies, ticket prices would rise sharply, and art would become an elitist pleasure for those who can afford it. In my country, several state museums offer free admission on certain days, and those days attract families who would never pay full price. Moreover, the creative industries employ large numbers of people, so supporting culture is also an economic decision. A modest arts budget therefore enriches people's lives at a relatively small cost.
لماذا تعمل هذه الفقرة؟ تبدأ بإقرار وجاهة جزء من الرأي المقابل باستخدام admittedly، ثم ترد عليه مباشرة، فيبدو الموقف متوازنًا. وتعرض ثلاثة أسباب مختلفة: ثقافيًا واجتماعيًا واقتصاديًا، مع تفسير أو مثال لكل منها. وتتنوع الصياغات بدقة بدل تكرار art: the arts وculture وarts budget. وتستخدم الخاتمة therefore لتعود إلى سؤال الإنفاق.
استخدامها في Speaking
سؤال من Part 3: Do you think traditional crafts will survive in the future?
Some will, but many are at risk of dying out, because young people don't see them as a real career. These skills used to be handed down from generation to generation within families, and that chain is breaking. That said, social media has given some crafts a second life. And if schools included them in arts education, I think they'd have a much better chance.
تقدم الإجابة موقفًا واضحًا، ثم سببًا، ثم جانبًا مقابلًا باستخدام that said. هكذا تتطور إجابة Part 3 بدل أن تصبح سلسلة تعميمات.
