Wake up 表示停止睡眠、醒来，也可以表示把别人叫醒。被叫醒的人如果用代词表示，要放在 wake 和 up 之间：Wake me up at seven。Wake up to 后面接问题或事实，则表示终于意识到：People are slowly waking up to the problem of plastic waste。

表达原因时容易想到 from。但 wake up from 通常指出离开的睡眠状态，例如 wake up from a nap、from a bad dream。要明确原因，可以用 because of；更自然的办法是让噪声作主语：The noise woke me up。
Wake up 指醒来，get up 指从床上起来。两者之间可能隔半小时：I wake up at 6:30, but I don't get up until seven。因此，说明几点起身开始一天时，用 get up：I get up at seven。
