Overshare meaning: saying too much and realising it too late

To overshare is to reveal more about yourself than the moment calls for: health, arguments, exes, to people you barely know. And the usual apology afterwards often comes out wrong.

To overshare is to tell people more about yourself than is appropriate: details of an argument, your health or your love life to someone you've met twice. It happens in conversation and online: she deleted the post because she felt she'd overshared. It's informal; neutrally, share too much personal information.
