変更のポイント
修正前The lesson was cancelled due to the teacher was ill.
修正後The lesson was cancelled because the teacher was ill.
Becauseと意味が近くても、due to the teacher was illのような節はそのまま続けません。名詞ならdue to illness、主語と動詞でthe teacher was illと述べるならbecauseを使います。
Be due to＋動詞は、予定されているという別の意味です。The train is due to arrive at six.は到着予定を述べます。The delay was due to snow.なら雪が遅れの原因です。
