Come out means to be released (a film or book) or to become known (the truth). See why a book doesn't “go out”, what it means for photos, and practise.

Come out means to appear or be released (about a book, film, album or results) or to become known (about the truth or a secret). This is how people talk about new releases in shops and cinemas: The film comes out on Friday. And The truth came out means the truth became known.
