RevisionMy manager, along with two colleagues, is flying to Berlin on Monday.
Three people are flying, so a plural verb seems logical. But in English the verb agrees only with the first noun, my manager, and the along with part is an extra between commas. So are was replaced with is. For a plural, link them with and: My manager and two colleagues are flying.
Get along with is a completely different phrase: to have a good relationship with someone. I get along with my flatmates means we're on good terms. Compare: I went to the party along with my flatmates, meaning together with them.
