If you think of home only as a noun, it seems to need to, as in go to school or go to work. But after verbs of movement, home already shows direction and takes no preposition. The correction removes to before home.
At home describes a place, where you are: I work at home on Fridays. Home without a preposition shows direction. Get home means to arrive home: What time did you get home last night?
